If he was already thinking about it... Well, sometimes, you can't change someone's mind about that stuff. And for Matsui, I think it wouldn't be inaccurate to say that Buzen was his world. In that case, learning that the place he just happened to live in was in danger probably didn't change all that much for him.
If you want to blame someone for the shark, you should really just blame Libby for thinking so little of Buzen.
Oh, Matsui... It's cruel that we weren't allowed to help him at all.
[akiwon did this... unfortunately for ylfa, who is very sweet, monika is such a libby anti now.]
Well, I have no problem blaming Libby, considering the disgusting excuse she gave me when I asked why she picked Buzen out of all people. There's such a thing as trying to minimize the collateral damage when you're forced to make a terrible choice, you know?
Apparently, Buzen's situation at home was a little... complicated. So Libby decided that it was less "cruel" to erase him over someone who could, in her words, live a full life. But what she really meant is that she decided his life was worth less by her own standards, without caring about his opinion or the position she put Rang and Matsui in.
It's true that there aren't any good choices at all. I would have understood if she said she wanted to go after someone who could defend themselves, for example... But who gave her the right to say Buzen's life wasn't worth living?
[well, that does make her feel awful. just horribly sad.]
Buzen was one of my favorite people here. He was so kind to me about Rin. And... I don't know. Saying he had a complicated situation is like, all of us died and we're being given the chance to go back. I don't know that it makes sense to say anyone who survived this game wouldn't be able to live a full life.
But also, Matsui, um, told me that he and Buzen decided that they never intended to win. They always wanted to make sure that the people here who hadn't had long lives like them would get a chance first. The fact is, if you really believe in the rules, it doesn't exactly matter if someone is here or erased, because everyone is going to be erased at the end unless they win.

[bad.]
I don't want to blame Libby, either. I mean, I wish she hadn't done that. But it's not like there are people here who it's good and fine to kill.
