[ PROB WAREHOUSE DISTRICT AREA since jonas carried them back after the hot mess of cyoa return.
so they're kinda sitting outside for some fresh air. but also so i can greedily accept pre-curfew pcs. though they do have makeshift bandages wrapped around to cover the area where their right eye should be. i'm the one without an eye now.... turns tabled ]
...Ah. Monika. Preparing for tonight? [ they are max exhaustion, just a bit skittish still, but they seem to be trying to normalize as much as they can. ]
Oh, no, it isn't that... [ that is the least of their worries. ] I haven't had the time to check on them myself so, I'm mostly wondering how they're doing is all.
[ yeah... they have just. been vibing here in the district area this whole time. too exhausted to go roaming around. ]
Um, well... I'm sure they wouldn't mind if you sent them a message to check in on them. But they're doing about as well as you could expect after what you all went through. [cyoas are rough...] Nahida mentioned you woke up in some kind of cave without your memories?
..Yeah. That's part of it. Just like our bodies were much younger physically, our minds were as well for most of us. It's.. overly complicated. [ which monika is sure to find out, happy egg day ]
Not at the military base I've originated from, no. And in my interstellar travels I haven't come across anything like this.
[ the choking(?) mime suddenly collapses off their seat, which has the mime previously dialing throw their invisible phone to rush over to lift them up and attempt to Heimlich maneuver on them.
... Man, they're totally dedicated to their art. [are they??? but she glances at setsu.] You know, you just said something really incredible like it was nothing. And it made me realize I don't know anything about your world.
[ some more mimes come in, carrying an invisible stretcher bed. seems a bit serious suddenly... maybe. ]
Admittedly I'm a bit lost at this point with them. [ what is the story. ] Well, it's more like my universe. The place I originated from isn't much, since Base Fifty-Two is just a military base. But interstellar travel is quite common in my universe. So visiting other planets is as possible as moving from one part of the city here to the next, if you have the means of getting there.
[the mimes attempt to put the choking(?) mime on the invisible stretcher — only for it to break! oh no! the mimes are panicking... ]
Oh... I see. My world hasn't advanced enough to travel through space that easily. But I've heard of families who live in military bases because of the parents' jobs, and they tend to move around a lot. Is that what it was like for you?
[ one of the mimes suddenly planks on the ground, sacrificing themselves to become a stretcher. they'll do it if it means saving the choking(?) mime's life... ]
Something of the sort. Admittedly, it's a bit fuzzy trying to think so far back.. [ they're only eighteen? but also zetsu has little growing-up lore so this is my escape ] Before I got on the ship, I was doing military work, and when I eventually leave the ship... I'll probably go back to the military as well.
[the mimes shed a silent tear for their companion's brave sacrifice. then they waste no time in grabbing them by the wrists and ankles, and dropping the choking(?) mime on top of them. this is looking a little........ problematic.]
Mhmm, I understand. To be honest, my own childhood memories are a little fuzzy too... [they can be 18 and live with their vague backstories together.] What kind of work do you usually do? You live in a world with intergalactic travel, so I assume the military is a little different than the one I know.
[ with the combined efforts, the group of mimes manage to lift the mime-now-stretcher and choking(?) mime together. they will now prepare to take leave to the back- wait, shouldn't they be heading out the cafe...?? where are they going-- ]
Well, I'm a Federal Galactic Army Special Forces solider. To be more specific, I'm a Lieutenant from one of the Defense forces. I mostly work in areas where soldiers are needed regarding resistances, defending people against major threats.. that sort of thing. [ maybe. that too is vague in game. ]
...I am. [ it's not as if they can deny it, not with their own memory fresh on the mind. ] Back in my universe, I'm imprisoned in an endless time loop. I've gone through hundreds of them, all various conditions... roles... events.
It's more like... you'll keep being thrown into new parallel universes, like rewinding time, over and over in an endless loop. Always the same place, but never really the same people.
And it'll stay that way-- loop after loop, spending every moment trying to gather the information needed to meet the conditions. But, to meet those conditions, I need to adjust the settings whenever I enter a new loop. To try and activate new events to gather more info. [ if it sounds like fourthwalling... yeah, hahaha. ]
[THOUGH?? THEY APPARENTLY DIED LATER??? this sucks.
the pigs are not done with them yet, though! so here is another memory (42:22-43:12). all the ui aspects are visible in the memory. this is fine and normal.]
It's nothing to apologize for, I am happy with how things turned out in the end.
[ and that's true! they really are trying to reassure her that things are okay.
also, this weird fucked up scene that i remember living through and whispering 'what the fuck!' but y'know, Setsu is also kinda familiar with some ui showing with settings and stuff so that isn't strange. though, they're more confused by the setting. ]
Are you.. or are you not at school? [ why does it look like there is space outside your school, ma'am. ]
If it weren't for the fact that we still have a few players who haven't been on a special mission, I would almost wonder if they just decided to start the list over from the top. I mean, you and Kaveh were among the first to go...
Yeah, I... had discussed that with Nahida earlier back that it's probably unlikely we would be sent on another one, and yet. [ that's Exactly what happened ]
week one, thursday.

monika nods, looking them over with blatant concern on their face.]
... Yeah. I wanted to check up on the four of you before it got too late, though.
no subject
I see. [ that makes sense to them ] Have you seen the other three already then?
no subject
but for this one, monika nods.]
Yeah... Sorry, I didn't plan to check in on you last but it just kind of turned out that way.

WEEK 3, MONDAY.
...What are they?
no subject
Huh? Do you mean the mimes, Setsu...?
no subject
[ watches a mime sit at an invisible table, pretending to eat. ...huh. ]

[watches the same mime start to pretend(?) to choke... another mime starts to pretend they're dialing emergency services on their invisible phone.]

WEEK 4, MONDAY.
no subject
Setsu... [she trails off, for a second, visibly struggling to understand.] You're in a timeloop?
no subject
...I am. [ it's not as if they can deny it, not with their own memory fresh on the mind. ] Back in my universe, I'm imprisoned in an endless time loop. I've gone through hundreds of them, all various conditions... roles... events.
no subject
[and there she was last week, thinking their world sounded so fascinating.]
Have you made any progress toward breaking out of it?
no subject
[ which makes things more questionable?? but they have their reasons. ]
...Sorta. The conditions involve a lot of information gathering. So I've met and gotten most of it done, but there's still some pieces missing.
no subject
Ah... So it's, like, you're not allowed to progress past a certain point in time until you've hit some kind of checkpoint? So to speak.
no subject
And it'll stay that way-- loop after loop, spending every moment trying to gather the information needed to meet the conditions. But, to meet those conditions, I need to adjust the settings whenever I enter a new loop. To try and activate new events to gather more info. [ if it sounds like fourthwalling... yeah, hahaha. ]

week five, thursday.
They seriously made you go on another one of these...
no subject
I was a bit surprised as well. When I saw Luo Wenzhou and Valerie, it made sense for them, and yet there I was as well.

Yeah, I... had discussed that with Nahida earlier back that it's probably unlikely we would be sent on another one, and yet. [ that's Exactly what happened ]
