I can move just fine in the usual, I just felt like wearin' something a bit warmer.

Last week even got me feeling tired, but can't say I was anywhere near how terrible some other people were feeling. Makes a guy wonder if he's heartless sometimes, but my world's pretty tough. You learn to move on fast when the danger's not over yet.

Some people are more desensitized than others. I don't think that necessarily makes them heartless... You could still feel at least a little bit of empathy for what everyone was going through, couldn't you?

'Course. It's not like I think everyone's dumb for feeling the way they do.

... Of course, it would be nicer if no one had to desensitize themselves to this stuff to survive. But...

Well, I'm a survivalist. It's just how things are with my planet, but I'm probably a head and shoulders above most.

I'd say you're pretty good at staying level-headed yourself, havin' to inspect corpses and all. Even I don't really volunteer for that.

Ehehe... You think so? That feels like a huge compliment coming from a survivalist like yourself.

[she shrugs.]

I'm not particularly squeamish, so better me than someone who would totally have nightmares about it later.

It's not that big of a deal. Me being a survivalist or whatever. It's a totally different thing.

[ He shrugs with one shoulder. ]

That's nice of you. A lot of people are pretty tough here, but not everyone is. Let the burden be carried by those who can better handle it.
