[a shrug and a hum, like... sort of? kinda? ylfa and gerard's autobiographies are out there.]
Fairy tales are, like, a subgenre. But nobody would just say "fantasy" if they're looking specifically for fairy tales, you know? The fantasy genre's varied enough that it covers anything from the classic dungeons and dragons to magical realism and urban fantasy.
[ magic bullshit, then. that makes sense, and he seems to be weighing his options on this one. ]
...might not be so bad to at least try and figure out what could exist in other worlds. I feel like I learn something new about someone's home all the time and it's always so different. Like the stuff you'd hear in stories.
[ but he shrugs. ]
Alright, Ms. President. I trust you. Urban fantasy me up.
[ because he would start small, at least. and it's debatable if he'll read it anyway. ]
Ahaha, I know what you mean. I definitely experience a little bit of culture shock every time someone mentions something off-handedly about their world, and it just sounds like something that could only exist in fiction where I come from.
[off they go to wherever the urban fantasy books are in this library. you cannot make me think about the layout. she'll help by picking out some of the books with a smaller page count, so he can look at the synopsis and see what sticks.]
Even so, it's like...nice. I guess. To know there are still people surprised by all of this stuff. [ jonas says, assuming monika is a nice and normal girl. anyway the layout can't hurt us but he is taking these books and kind of eyeballing the synopses, flipping through a few pages. ]
I guess the good thing is I could borrow all of these and if I don't like any of them I'll bring them back. I doubt the dead have a check-out limit or anything and we have...way too much time on our hands throughout the week.
[she is a very nice and normal girl? idk what you're talking about? she smiles, anyway, like someone who didn't come from a wild ass world.]
Mhmm, that's the nice thing about libraries. You're not making any commitments or wasting your money, since you can return it if it turns out you don't like it. [(monika voice) support your local libraries] Anyway... I could spend hours reading. Obviously. But you're not a big reader, so... What kinda stuff do you usually do in your free time?
I do like the idea of not being tied down to something I won't like. [idly. but hm. that other question has him thinking, too, because most of his free time is spent doing things that maybe are not as socially acceptable as others. ]
Let's just say that the skate park that showed up is a lot more similar to what I'm familiar with. I spent a lot of time there over the last couple of years.

Fantasy genre...? I mean sure, why not? But isn't that like fairy tales kind of? [ ylfa and gerard's autobiographies... ]
