[ oh i did not oops oh well this is fine. monika gets a lil nod of greeting before he registers her words. ]
Yeah, sure. I'll definitely take meatballs over going back to McDonald's right now. [ and he gestures with his head before he walks for her to follow. ] I knew we had like nine hours, but it still feels a lot later than that.
Probably because we were all panicking in one way or another. We didn't have anything close to an answer, and we knew we had a deadline. That's...always how things are when you're anticipating them, right? Over before you can blink.
[ and so they walk. ]
I'm not even sure what we could have done different at the beginning. We were all pretty lost.
For better or worse. [ what a mess. ] ...we should probably try to look at people's items and stuff during the week so we know if somebody's withholding something or has something extra. And at least one witness for what it is if you don't bring it to trial. Right? Like...accountability.
Right. I don't think it's a bad idea to keep track of everyone's earnings, too. Well... as best as we can, anyway.
It's easier to lie about your balance, but someone could still contradict themselves down the line. Especially as we learn more about how to earn additional money in the game.
Yeah, that's a good point. Our team's been keeping track of our money together, but other teams might not. And just because we might not be able to buy weapons or anything from the reapers doesn't mean someone can't buy something to use. We just spent an hour arguing about how anything can be used to bludgeon someone to death.
Exactly. Anything can be used as a weapon in a pinch, really... And more stuff might be in stock next week, too, so that's something important to keep in mind.
It should be. Ruby pretty much said as much but she wouldn't confirm what kind of stuff might be there. So...we should prepare for anything. I wish it were easier to know what people kept in their warehouses but it's not like we can even go into them if they're not ours.
It's kind of fucked up that even our warehouses aren't safe on Thursday nights. It really is fair game for just about anybody who wants to target somebody else. Maybe we should start setting traps or something.

The first few hours felt like they went on forever. But then, in that last stretch— it was over before I even knew it.

[She sighs, shaking her head.]
For better or worse, at least now we know what to expect.
